Job summary

Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a seasoned EHS leader to oversee safety, health, and environmental programs for a new specialty ceramic powder facility.

You will serve as the primary safety representative for capital projects, manage contractor safety, and drive site-wide EHS program development and compliance. Responsibilities include implementing Hazard Communication, LOTO, Confined Space, Permit-to-Work, and Emergency Response programs; onboarding

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive EHS experience within manufacturing, construction, chemical processing, powder handling, industrial operations, or similar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial safety requirements, contractor management practices, permit-to-work systems, confined space regulations, lockout/tagout requirements, and hazard communication standards.
  • Experience developing and implementing site EHS programs, policies, procedures, training programs, audits, and compliance systems.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
  • On-site work requirement; not remote or hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety, health, and environmental activities supporting startup, operation, and expansion of a new specialty ceramic powder facility.
  • Serve as primary safety representative for major capital projects, contractor safety management, project safety planning, and field safety observations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site EHS programs including Hazard Communication, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Permit-to-Work, Hot Work, Contractor Safety, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, and Emergency Response.
  • Manage contractor onboarding, safety orientations, review of safety plans, JSAs, permits, training records, and compliance documentation.
  • Support facility permitting activities with engineering, environmental consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure EHS compliance.
  • Conduct workplace risk assessments, industrial hygiene studies, noise surveys, air monitoring, dust exposure assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and other EHS evaluations.
  • Lead chemical management initiatives including SDS administration, chemical inventory, hazard assessments, storage reviews, and training.
  • Coordinate incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and safety communications to drive proactive safety culture.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, and leadership to identify opportunities for safety improvements and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and site preparedness exercises.
