Zusammenfassung

New York Genome Center, Inc. seeks an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Laboratory Manager to prevent workplace injuries and ensure regulatory compliance. The role includes inspecting labs, developing safety programs and training, and acting as Biosafety Officer.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Facilities and Office Management. You will lead IBC activities, oversee permits, PPE, and ALCOHOL handling, maintain safety equipment, and drive emergency prep and training across NYGC

Qualifikationen

• MS in occupational health, safety or related field.
• At least three years of EHS experience in biotech/pharma or academic labs.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA and FDNY regulations.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail and hands-on approach.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.

Aufgaben

• Lead EHS compliance and risk management programs for NYGC labs and work areas.
• Serve as Biosafety Officer and IBC chair; oversee permits and COF staffing with FDNY.
• Oversee emergency preparedness, training, records, and drills.
• Coordinate environmental management and facilities coordination including waste management and regulatory liaison.
• Manage core laboratory equipment safety and collaborator relations with PI and facilities teams.
