Job summary

General Matter is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety intern in Los Angeles to support health, safety, and environmental protection efforts for our enrichment technology development and pilot-scale operations.

You will work with experienced EHS professionals to help develop practical, fit-for-purpose programs for managing chemical, radiological, and industrial hazards, while learning regulatory compliance and safety in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or completed degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to apply health and safety principles to real-world risk mitigation.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist development and improvement of LOTO programs and procedures.
• Identify electrical hazards and conduct risk assessments for labs and operations.
• Create and maintain energy control documentation and procedures.
• Support safety training materials on electrical safety and LOTO.
• Assist hazard assessments, labeling, and PPE evaluations.
• Promote safety culture through engagement with employees.
