Job summary

A-C Electric Company offers a 10-week summer internship focused on Environmental Health & Safety in the electrical construction industry. You will work with EHS professionals to learn safety culture, perform site inspections, audits, and training support across field and office settings.

You will gain exposure to OSHA compliance, environmental requirements, incident investigations, and LEAN projects while building leadership and communication skills through mentorship and professional networking.

Qualifications

• Full-time commitment (40 hours/week) for 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Enrolled student with expected graduation on or before August 2029.

Responsibilities

• Assist EHS staff in conducting safety inspections and job hazard analyses at active electrical construction sites.
• Help ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
• Collect, track, and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
• Review and prepare Job Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Safety Inspection Reports.
• Assist in developing and delivering employee safety training and toolbox talks.
• Review environmental compliance records such as hazardous material handling and waste disposal documents.
• Participate in Book Club assignments to build leadership and communication skills.
• Contribute to a LEAN project aimed at improving safety or environmental processes with a final presentation to leaders.
• Hands-on field and office-based experience in safety and environmental compliance.
• Mentorship from experienced EHS managers and safety coordinators.
