Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Intern for Summer 2027 in Freeport, Illinois. The internship supports development and continuous improvement of EHS programs under the guidance of the EHS team and site leadership.

The role emphasizes OSHA compliance, incident investigations, safety communications, and training. The company offers relocation and housing assistance for the internship duration.

Qualificações

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or environmental science.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Attention to detail and ability to analyze data.
• Ability to participate in team-oriented projects to support effective corrective actions.
• Willingness to learn and engage in all aspects of our EHS programs.

Responsabilidades

• Support the development, implementation, and management of safety programs – including LOTO, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Fall Protection, etc. to ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable environmental standards.
• Participate in incident investigations by gathering information, preparing documentation, and assisting with corrective actions.
• Assist in creating and delivering safety communications and training materials to reinforce safe work practices across the site.
• Help maintain the Behavioral‑Based Safety program by collecting, organizing, and reporting observation data to ensure corrective actions are identified, resourced, and closed in a timely manner.
• Support compliance activities related to regulatory permits, certificates, and required EHS documentation.
• Assist with internal EHS audits to verify safe work practices, identify improvement opportunities, and support regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to EHS‑related training initiatives, including the development of training tools, presentations, and awareness materials.
