Job summary

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Intern to assist with developing and improving safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental standards, and supporting a proactive safety culture at our Freeport site. You will collaborate with the EHS team and site leadership to strengthen compliance and engagement.

The internship is based in Freeport, Illinois, with relocation and housing assistance available for the duration of the program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or closely related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail with data analysis capability.
• Ability to contribute to team projects to drive corrective actions.
• Willingness to learn and engage in EHS programs.

Responsibilities

• Support development, deployment, and improvement of safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental standards.
• Assist in incident investigations by gathering information and documenting actions.
• Create and deliver safety communications and training materials for site teams.
• Maintain Behavioral-Based Safety data and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Support regulatory permits, certificates, and EHS documentation.
