Job summary

MACOM is offering an Environmental Health and Safety Internship in Lowell, MA. The role focuses on researching and developing a corporate business continuity framework across MACOM sites and departments, with mentoring from experienced EHS professionals.

During the 12 weeks, you will identify hazards, assist in implementing safety measures, monitor compliance with regulations, participate in audits, and develop a proactive prevention program, including a LOTO initiative.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a field related to Environmental, Health, and Safety.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
• Basic project management or organizational skills are expected.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety practices through hands-on activities, coaching, and projects.
• Identify potential hazards and support safety measures to mitigate risks in the workplace.
• Monitor compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and provide solutions to ensure adherence.
• Assist in investigations of EHS incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Participate in EHS audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and maintain a safe work environment.
• Lead initiatives to improve participation in proactive prevention.
• Contribute to the development of a lock out tag out (LOTO) program.
