Job summary

MACOM in Lowell, MA is seeking an EH&S Technician to develop and maintain the company’s environmental health and safety management system, ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations while protecting employees and the environment.

You will assist the EHS Manager, conduct inspections, manage waste programs, support ISO 14001/45001 programs, and deliver training on EHS topics, with opportunities to lead audits and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–4 years of related experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist the EHS Manager in reviewing/updating policies and procedures per regulations.
• Perform routine life safety equipment inspections.
• Lead the regulated waste management program including inspections and shipments.
• Coordinate compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other guidelines.
• Maintain hazard communication programs, Safety Data Sheets, and chemical inventories.
• Prepare data for EHS permits and reporting requirements.
• Conduct job hazard analyses and PPE reviews.
• Prepare training materials and deliver EHS training.
• Lead injury/incident reviews and root-cause analysis.
• Support Life Safety Programs and EHS audits.

**EH&S Technician**MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Centers, Telecommunication, Industrial and Defense applications. The focus of this position is to develop and maintain sustainable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) management system that ensure operational compliance with company, customer, and global governmental EHS rules and regulations. The primary objectives are to protect employees, customers and the environment by identifying, controlling or eliminating risks and hazards that could cause injury and illness or cause harm to the environment. The primary responsibilities of the EHS Technician are to oversee, support, and ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, standards, and other requirements applicable to MACOM’s operations.**Summary of Duties and Responsibilities**• Assist the EHS Manager in the review and update of environmental health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with all Federal, State, and local government regulations.• Perform routine life safety equipment inspections• Lead all aspects of the regulated waste management program, including inspections, accumulation, and shipment.• Work to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and municipal guidelines.• Maintain hazard communication programs, Safety Data Sheets, and chemical inventory information.• Gather data to assist with filing of EHS permits: Storm Water, Air, Hazardous Waste, Waste-Water Treatment, Fire Safety, and operating permits. Gather information and assist with reporting requirements.• Conduct job hazard analyses and personal protective equipment reviews and assessments.• Prepare training materials, and conduct training on EHS topics• Lead injury and incident reviews, root cause analysis, and knowledge share communication.**Support the Contractor EHS Management Program**• Support Life Safety Programs• Conduct EHS audits on a recurring basis.
