Job description

EHS & Governance Specialist

Concord, NC (on-site) | $73,000 to $75,000 | Full-time, Mon to Fri, 8 to 5

Love the idea of being the person who keeps a manufacturing site clean, compliant, and ahead of the curve? This one's for you.

We're working with a well-established Concord-area manufacturer to find an EHS & Governance Specialist who can own the environmental, health, safety, and ESG side of the business. You'll be the go-to expert who keeps ISO 14001 humming, stays ahead of shifting regulations, and turns dense compliance requirements into plain English the whole site can act on.

What makes this role interesting

You won't be buried in a back office. You'll move between the data and the factory floor, work with teams across the US and overseas, and have real influence on how the company tackles waste, energy, carbon, and emerging issues like PFAS and restricted substances. It's part detective, part translator, part guardian, with the autonomy to make it your own.

A typical week might include

Running and improving the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

Tracking what's coming next from the EPA, OSHA, DOT, and international regulators

Coordinating audits and inspections, then chasing findings to the finish line

Being the single source of truth for EHS, ESG, and product-compliance questions from customers, suppliers, and agencies

Managing waste, chemical compliance, and sustainability metrics

Digging into SAP and other systems to make sense of production and material data

Supporting environmental and safety training across the site

You'll fit right in if you have

A degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemistry, or similar (or equivalent hands-on experience)

Background in EHS, sustainability, or regulatory compliance, ideally in automotive or manufacturing

Working knowledge of EPA, RCRA, TSCA, and OSHA requirements

Familiarity with ISO 14001 and safety management systems

A knack for turning complex rules into clear, useful guidance

Comfort with data, Excel, and juggling several priorities at once

EHS or auditing certifications are a bonus, not a must.
