Job summary

LG Chem Ohio Petrochemical, Inc. is seeking an EHS Generalist to develop, implement, and administer environmental, health, and safety programs at the Ravenna facility. The position supports OSHA and EPA compliance and works with site leadership to maintain a safe workplace.

The ideal candidate is early in their EHS career or transitioning from manufacturing, with a degree in a related field and strong organizational skills to manage training, records, and investigations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 1+ year of experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, warehouse, logistics, maintenance, quality, environmental, safety, or related environments.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental, health, and safety programs throughout the facility.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and safety observations to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company EHS requirements.
• Coordinate and track employee, contractor, and visitor safety training.
• Maintain training records and Learning Management System (LMS) data.
• Participate in incident, injury, property damage, and near-miss investigations.
• Track corrective and preventive actions to completion.
• Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management, recycling, chemical inventory management, and regulatory recordkeeping.
• Assist with emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response planning.
• Maintain EHS records, reports, metrics, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, warehouse, logistics, and office personnel to promote a strong safety culture.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety, environmental performance, and regulatory compliance.
