Job summary

LG Chem Ohio Petrochemical, Inc. is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Generalist to support the development, implementation, and administration of EHS programs at our Ravenna, Ohio facility.

You will conduct inspections, assist with training, and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements while collaborating with site leadership and operations to foster a safe and sustainable workplace.

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or safety roles.
• Familiarity with OSHA/EPA regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist environmental, health and safety programs across the facility.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and safety observations to identify improvements.
• Maintain EHS records, training, and incident investigations.
• Support incident investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory reporting.

The position is based at our Ravenna, Ohio facility.This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career EHS professional or an experienced manufacturing employee looking to transition into an Environmental, Health & Safety role. The successful candidate will work closely with site leadership and employees to help maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace while gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.What You'll DoAssist with environmental, health, and safety programs throughout the facility.Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and safety observations to identify opportunities for improvement.Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company EHS requirements.Coordinate and track employee, contractor, and visitor safety training.Maintain training records and Learning Management System (LMS) data.Participate in incident, injury, property damage, and near-miss investigations.Track corrective and preventive actions to completion.Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management, recycling, chemical inventory management, and regulatory recordkeeping.Assist with emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response planning.Maintain EHS records, reports, metrics, and compliance documentation.Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, warehouse, logistics, and office personnel to promote a strong safety culture.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety, environmental performance, and regulatory compliance.What You BringMinimum QualificationsAssociate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.One or more years of experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, warehouse, logistics, maintenance, quality, environmental, safety, or related environments; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple priorities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.Preferred QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.Previous experience supporting safety, environmental, compliance, quality, maintenance, production, or operational programs.Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, workers' compensation, incident investigation, or regulatory compliance requirements.Experience conducting inspections, audits, safety observations, or employee training.Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), compliance software, or EHS management systems.CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.Experience in chemical manufacturing, plastics manufacturing, or other industrial environments.If you are passionate about workplace safety, enjoy problem-solving, and want to build a career in Environmental, Health & Safety, we encourage you to apply.Physical RequirementsAbility to work in both office and manufacturing environments.Ability to routinely walk throughout the facility and climb stairs.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Ability to occasionally lift up to 55 pounds.Ability to perform inspections and observations in an active manufacturing environment.Why LG Chem?At LG Chem, safety is a core value.
