Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an EHS Engineer to lead environmental, health, and safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with engineering teams to embed EHS in designs and operations. The role focuses on risk management, safety training, and continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance across facilities.

The position requires 4–7 years of EHS experience, a related engineering degree, and familiarity with OSHA/EPA/RCRA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4–7 years of EHS program experience.
• Experience leading risk assessments and safety programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, RCRA and related regulations.
• Ability to train and develop EHS programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, RCRA) and stay current on changes.
• Lead and support project Risk Assessments (RA), HazOp processes, and ensure actions are incorporated into design delivery.
• Support Pre-Start-Up Safety Review (PSSR) processes and address gaps.
• Develop, implement, and manage EHS policies, procedures, and programs to meet regulatory requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate hazards through safety assessments, inspections, and audits.
• Monitor and ensure compliance through audits and inspections; adapt policies to changes in regulations.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees; foster a strong local EHS culture and efficiency.
