Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support the Florida site. You will implement EHS programs, oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and ensure compliance with safety regulations while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safe operations.

Ideal candidates will bring 3–5 years of relevant experience, be willing to obtain additional certifications, and excel in a collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on safe human spaceflight.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field required.
• 3–5 years of industry-related experience preferred.
• Must successfully complete RCRA and DOT training within six months of the position.
• Willing to obtain forklift and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
• Flexible to work all hours, including weekends and off shifts as required.
• Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste including labeling, inspection, and shipment coordination.
• Conduct routine environmental and safety inspections (storm water, SPCC, wastewater, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations).
• Participate in monthly safety walks and safety committee; follow up on corrective actions.
• Collect and enter data into EHS software modules.
• Serve as a resource to work groups for EHS questions or issues.
• Assist in incident investigations and follow-up actions as required.
• Assist in the review and development of Job Hazard Analyses.
• Perform health and safety audits as required.
• Run reports to convey information in a logical format.
• Other duties as assigned.
