Through direction from the EHS Director, the EHS Engineer is responsible for managing the day-to-day environmental, health, and safety operations at QCi’s four semiconductor manufacturing facilities in New Jersey and Massachusetts. This role requires a strong environmental compliance background and encompasses hazardous materials management, chemical inventory control, emergency response readiness, and regulatory compliance activities. The successful candidate will play a hands‑on role in maintaining a safe work environment while ensuring the facility meets all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations. The role will be based in Bedford, MA location and travel to the other locations as needed with 25‑30% travel expected.
Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
2‑3 years of EHS management experience. OSHA 30 general industry, NFPA 70E Arc Flash, HAZWOPER 40‑hour certification or equivalent emergency response training. Experience with environmental permitting (air, water, waste) and regulatory reporting (Tier II, TRI). Familiarity with NFPA codes, fire protection systems, and life safety requirements. Experience working with 5S, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies. Strong electrical background, including NFPA 70E program management. ASP, CSP, CHMM, or other relevant EHS certifications. Ability to wear and operate Self‑Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
