Socket.dev in California is seeking a Director, Safety to lead health, safety, and environmental programs across operations. This hands-on leader will advance safety performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen safety culture while guiding the EHS team.

The role partners with operations to embed safety into growth, manufacturing expansion, and continuous improvement, and requires strong leadership, incident investigation, and executive communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in safety, environment, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive safety or EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• 5+ years leading safety programs across multiple facilities and 3+ years managing safety professionals.
• Direct experience with Cal/OSHA compliance (IIPP ownership, inspection management, corrective actions).
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, arc flash risk assessment, and hazardous energy control practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve safety and environmental programs, policies, procedures, and management systems.
• Develop, coach, and manage the EHS team to ensure site coverage across locations.
• Maintain a strong presence in manufacturing operations to promote engagement and safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, environmental, NFPA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead electrical safety programs and related risk management activities.
• Support new facility start-ups and expansions through safety planning and readiness reviews.
• Strengthen safety culture through near-miss reporting and behavior-based safety initiatives.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Develop EHS performance metrics, dashboards, and leadership reports.
