Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field
• 10-12 years’ experience in EHS leadership
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, hazardous materials, and emergency preparedness
• Willingness to travel to other locations or trainings
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and basic data logging
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform inspections in office and manufacturing environments
• Ability to wear respiratory protection

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EHS programs to ensure a safe environment compliant with regulations and company requirements
• Lead development and evaluation of EHS plans, procedures, and objectives
• Foster open communication and positive employee relations to build trust
• Promote staff involvement and innovation in safety initiatives
• Oversee water treatment and wastewater equipment for compliance with limits
• Manage personnel responsible for air pollution control equipment
• Prepare reports and maintain logs for water treatment, tests, and chemical usage
• Build a cohesive EHS team aligned with company objectives
• Deliver safety training in classrooms and on-the-job settings
• Maintain safety and environmental records and logbooks
• Coordinate with medical, HR, and facilities on workers’ compensation
• Assist cost-control efforts and manufacturing improvement committees
• Interface with OSHA and environmental program inspectors
• Develop and update safety programs, JSAs, and rules
• Investigate hazardous conditions and implement corrective actions
• Conduct industrial hygiene studies and assess new safety developments
• Keep current on federal/state safety and environmental regulations
• Coordinate safety and industrial hygiene with insurers
• Investigate serious injuries/incidents and implement corrective measures
