Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator for the San Leandro, CA site. The role focuses on leading safety initiatives, maintaining regulatory compliance, and coaching employees on safe work practices in a high-volume industrial environment.

The position reports to the EHS Manager and requires 2+ years in EHS within manufacturing. Expect travel on the plant floor and close collaboration with operations and leadership to meet PBM objectives.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Partner with EHS Manager and operations to implement safety policies, procedures, audit protocols, and training requirements.
• Lead safety improvement initiatives with CSOs & Leadership team.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, RCRA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements.
• Complete required environmental and safety inspections and document corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, identify contributing factors, and issue reports meeting deadlines.
• Monitor federal, state, and local EHS regulatory changes affecting the facility.
• Maintain inventories of PPE and safety equipment.
• Facilitate and document hazard and risk assessments.
• Coach employees on safe work practices and build EHS capability.
• Coordinate EHS training, records, and communications with employees and partners.
• Spend ~50% of time on the plant floor to understand equipment safety systems.
