Dana Canada Corp. seeks a Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives and compliance in automotive manufacturing. The role involves training, program management, and fostering a safety culture among employees. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in safety management.
Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:
• Promotes the Dana safety culture of excellence through leading by example, coaching, and mentoring.
• Assists in the development and management of Dana Safety and Environmental Programs (LOTO, forklift training / licensing, crane operation, ergonomics, job safety risk assessments (JSRA), working at heights, waste management, air permit compliance, storm water, spill prevention, etc.).
• Facilitates new-hire safety orientation and safety and environmental training for new hires and renewals.
• Acts as an ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 facilitator to support Health, Safety, Environmental Management Systems, and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Assists in leading the Safety Committee and promoting employee engagement and participation.
• Issues lockout/tagout locks and maintains all related records.
• Manages PPE vending, including enrollments, terminations, and changes.
• Participates in near miss and accident/injury investigations, conducts root cause analysis, leads problem-solving meetings, and implements corrective actions.
• Serves as the second point of contact for safety incidents.
• Assists in developing and trending Safety-First audits and proactive safety programs.
• Maintains environmental metrics and records.
• Develops daily and monthly safety and environmental messages.
• Coordinates chemical and hazardous waste disposal.
• Ensures DOT and RCRA compliance for hazardous materials and waste shipments.
• Manages the contractor and visitor safety program.
• Evaluates the safety of new equipment per Dana guidelines.
• Assists the EHS Manager with additional assignments, projects, or responsibilities as needed.
• Supports environmental compliance efforts.
