Job summary

Viant Medical’s Laconia site, a precision metal manufacturing operation, is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Coordinator (EHS) to support facility-wide compliance with government regulations and company practices.

The role collaborates with site leadership to develop EHSS programs, report incidents, train personnel, and maintain procedures, while driving risk-reduction initiatives and ensuring a safe, compliant workplace for all employees.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability roles.
• Knowledge of EPA/OSHA regulations.
• Experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to company Core Beliefs and safety/quality requirements, including QMS and EHSS.
• Assist the site in EHSS program development.
• Responsible for all workplace incident reports and investigations.
• Report results to Site Leadership and drive resolutions.

About the role:

The Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Coordinator (EHS) is responsible for assisting the company's Environmental Health & Safety in ensuring facility-wide environmental health and safety compliance with government regulations and company-mandated practices and procedures.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Adhere to company Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements, including, but not limited to: company Quality Management System (QMS); Environmental, Health & Safety; company policies, procedures, and work instructions; and other relevant regulatory requirements.
• Assist the Site in the EHSS program development.
• Responsible for all workplace incident reports and investigations.
• Reporting and working with site leadership for resolution.
• Update and maintain as necessary all EHSS procedures, Equipment Training and Certification, maintaining programs for Plant and Personnel Safety.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate risk.
• Assist in the identification of new equipment and manufacturing technologies to improve manufacturing safety and overall facility safety.
• Facilitate site EHSS functions, including routine meetings, awareness campaigns, and the performance of EHSS facility assessments, reporting results to Site Leadership.
• Lead EHSS training as required by Federal, State, Local or Viant requirements.
• Maintain compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. Including, but not limited to OSHA, and any other government agencies.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental affairs. Including, but not limited to wastewater, waste disposal.
• Maintains all related safety KPI’s, OSHA logs, and Viant specific Preventative Safety Observations.
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Must demonstrate good interpersonal, presentation and negotiating skills, and excellent written and verbal communications.
• Must be able to work within a team structure to help develop and implement EHSS programs.
• Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office suite.
• Must have basic knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations (e.g. EPA and OSHA)
• Experience in manufacturing maintenance environments
• 2+ years experience in Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability roles

Environmental working conditions:

• Working with cutting & machining fluids, solvents, lubricants and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Moderate to significant amounts of bending, lifting, twisting and sitting.
• Moderate to significant periods of standing and walking.
• Must be willing and able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel toed shoes.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, CME environment requirements)
