Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consultant, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) in Southern California to lead on-site EHS programs for Fortune 500 clients. You will conduct safety assessments, help design programs, and ensure compliance while traveling to client sites across Los Angeles and San Diego.

The role requires 2+ years in EHS, a related degree, and knowledge of U.S. EHS regulations. Excellent communication and willingness to travel up to 40 hours/week are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related science degree.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in technology, biotech, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, and client-focused.
• Willingness to travel to client sites within Los Angeles or San Diego areas up to 40 hours/week.
• Driver's License required; ability to operate company vehicle due to travel.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Help implement innovative safety programs addressing a wide array of Safety challenges (Auditing, Behavior-Based Safety, Biohazards, Chemical/Lab Safety, Data Analysis, Electrical Safety, NFPA 70E, Fire Prevention, Industrial Hygiene, Laser Safety, LOTO, Machine Guarding, Process Hazard Assessments, Robotics Safety, Safety Process Improvement).
• Perform building hazardous materials and waste inspections, oversight, and sampling.
• Conduct audits, risk assessments, and industrial hygiene evaluations.
• Collect and analyze field data; prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement EHS programs and strategies.
• Ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance across all deliverables.
