Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Senior Associate, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance to join our Irvine, California consulting team.

You will partner with Project Managers and technical experts to deliver EHS compliance, sustainability and transaction-related due diligence for leading clients across tech, bio-pharma, R&D, and manufacturing, while traveling to site locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Environmental Science or Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline.
• 1+ years of environmental health and safety experience, ideally in tech, bio-pharma, R&D, or manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with environmental permitting, California OSHA and/or EPA, regulatory compliance, and management systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational and analytical capabilities; experience documenting technical data and preparing reports is a plus.
• Ability to travel to client sites based on client needs in the Southern California area (i.e., Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside County, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform and conduct compliance audit, safety risk assessments and assist in developing programs, procedures, practices, and standard work to ensure regulatory compliance and protect employees, including machine guarding and automated equipment / robotics safety.
• Understand compliance requirements for key environmental and safety programs, including chemical, laboratory, robotics, laser, electrical, data center, and construction safety.
• Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, sustainability, and site investigation.
• Conduct inspections, investigations, safety observations, job safety analyses, and implement mitigation measures to control health and safety hazards and risks.
• Perform EHS compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide general EHS compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.
• Conduct inspections to verify EHS compliance at client facilities.
• Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers in the successful delivery of projects.
