Job summary

Artemis Solutions is seeking a Clinical Applications Specialist to join its Central Kentucky Information Services team. This hands-on healthcare IT role focuses on building, testing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting EHR and clinical applications to improve patient care and operational efficiency.

You'll collaborate with clinical departments, physicians, and vendors; manage multiple projects; and stay current on healthcare information systems trends while maintaining strong documentation

Qualifications

  • Healthcare information systems experience with EHR and practice management systems.
  • Experience with application development, testing, implementation, workflow analysis, and project management.
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and become a subject matter expert for supported applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, implement, maintain, and support EHR and clinical applications.
  • Support EHR release upgrades, system optimizations, new initiatives, and process-improvement projects.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned clinical applications.
  • Partner with clinical departments and healthcare professionals to understand workflows and develop effective technology solutions.
  • Analyze clinical processes, systems, and workflows to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and system utilization.
  • Perform thorough testing and validation of software functionality before implementation.
  • Monitor supported clinical applications for performance, utilization, and system alerts.
  • Work directly with technology vendors on service requests, application enhancements, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide hands-on education and training for supported clinical applications and maintain current training materials.
  • Participate in healthcare technology projects, committees, work groups, and organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of projects, system functions, processes, procedures, and meetings.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in healthcare information systems and clinical technology.
  • Follow and promote appropriate information security protocols.
  • Work independently with minimal direct supervision while collaborating closely with clinical and Information Services teams.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
