Job summary

Corvant provides specialty HVAC, plumbing and mechanical services to mission-critical facilities across sectors. The EH&S Specialist I supports safety inspections and training while building foundational EH&S expertise under supervision.

Travel throughout the Southeast is required, offering exposure to diverse projects. This entry-to-mid-level role focuses on safety program support, documentation, and coordination with field crews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 29 CFR 1926 knowledge.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job site safety inspections and document observations under senior staff guidance
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and corrective action documentation
• Deliver basic safety training programs and toolbox talks to field crews as directed
• Distribute and track PPE and safety supplies across assigned job sites
• Maintain OSHA 300 log entries and safety documentation with accuracy
• Track open corrective actions and follow up on closure status
• Assist with development and distribution of safety communications and alerts
• Participate in GC safety meetings and pre-task planning as directed
• Learn and develop proficiency in OSHA regulations and company safety standards
• Support the EH&S Supervisor with special safety projects and program activities

The EH&S Specialist I supports safety inspections and training activities while developing foundational EH&S expertise under the guidance of the Sr. EH&S Manager. This entry-to-mid-level role is the starting point for a career in construction safety management. Travel throughout the Southeast is required.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field preferred
• 0-2 years of construction safety or field experience
• Developing knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 construction safety requirements
• OSHA 30-hour certification required or must obtain within 30 days
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Effective communication with field crews and management
• Reliable, safety-first mindset and professional conduct
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record required

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
