Job summary

Dow Chemical in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, is seeking an EH&S Program Specialist to develop and maintain safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous safety improvements across operations.

You will lead risk assessments, support the Path2Zero initiative toward net-zero emissions, provide guidance on EH&S policies, and coach plant teams to meet performance goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) or related field.
• EH&S program development, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance experience.
• Ability to lead safety improvements and coach teams.

Responsibilities

• Leads daily EH&S programs by applying established safety standards and protocols.
• Ensures plant operations meet EH&S performance expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Provides guidance on EH&S policies and serves as a resource for plant teams.
• Acts as primary contact for environmental, industrial hygiene, and health & safety inquiries.
• Supports and coaches employees on EH&S procedures and responsibilities.
• Contributes to achieving EH&S goals for the plant.
• Oversees timely completion of compliance tasks.
• Conducts or manages environmental and industrial hygiene evaluations and reports findings.
