Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Elyria, OH, is seeking an EH&S Manager – Onsite to lead the EHS culture, drive safety performance, and manage compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ISO/OHSAS standards.

You’ll coordinate audits, deliver training, and liaise with regulators at the local site. The role requires a bachelor’s in environmental science and 5 years of heavy manufacturing experience, with CSP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in heavy manufacturing with demonstrated ability to implement EHS programs.
• Detailed, working knowledge of OSHA and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.
• Practical experience managing EHS programs in conformance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and cultivate an exceptional EHS culture within the division to achieve world-class safety performance and to meet increasingly stringent corporate performance objectives.
• Develop and coordinate internal auditing processes to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory standards such as OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
• Deliver and track EHS training for all plant employees to ensure required annual safety certifications, incident prevention, emergency response and preparedness, and safe work practices.
• Serve as lead interface with OSHA, EPA, or any other local, state or federal agency.
• Manage and/or coordinate industrial hygiene surveys or studies to identify and control a wide variety of physical and chemical stressors.
• Serve as the site’s liaison with designated global property insurance carrier to provide closure to open recommendations and to help ensure conformance with their requirements.
