Job summary

The Whiting- Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to support construction projects across Maryland. You will conduct site inspections, assist with incident investigations, and help implement mitigation strategies while ensuring OSHA compliance on diverse worksites.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in EH&S, recognized safety certifications (GSP/ASP), BCSP credentials, and demonstrate strong communication to foster a safety-focused culture across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an Environmental Health and Safety Related field.
• Recognized Safety Professional Certification (examples).
• BCSP (GSP or ASP).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to the project team and safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular job site inspections to identify hazards and verify corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations with interviews, data, photos and documentation.
• Evaluate planning/permits such as Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and more.
• Apply Industrial Hygiene principles (Hearing conservation, Silica, Asbestos, Lead, etc.).
• Understand fire protection and OSHA regulations; contribute to safety program updates.
