Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to support construction projects nationwide. The role requires on-site inspections, incident investigations, and the application of OSHA regulations to mitigate hazards on active sites.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field and a recognized safety certification (e.g., BCSP GSP/ASP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• Recognized safety professional certification such as BCSP (GSP/ASP).
• Strong verbal and written communications; commitment to safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular job site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Support incident investigations with interviews, data, and documentation.
• Evaluate planning/permits (Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, etc.).
• Apply Industrial Hygiene principles to hearing conservation, silica, asbestos, lead work.
• Understand fire protection and OSHA regulations; adapt with location needs.
