Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to support construction projects nationwide. This role requires broad technical and managerial EH&S expertise and ongoing safety culture improvement across the business unit.

Responsibilities include regular site inspections, incident investigations, and evaluating permits and IH considerations. The position emphasizes OSHA compliance and effective communication with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EH&S related field is required.
• Recognized Safety Professional Certification (BCSP GSP/ASP) preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular job site inspections to identify hazards and verify corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations with interviews, data, photos, and documentation.
• Evaluate planning/permits (Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, etc.) for mitigation.
• Apply Industrial Hygiene principles to hearing conservation, silica, asbestos, lead work, etc.
• Understand fire protection and storage/handling of flammable materials.
• Maintain working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
