Job summary

Requirements

  • Maintains hospital and specialty practice standards.
  • Integrates ethical principles in all aspects of role.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff and considers cultural implications in this communication.
  • Educator
  • Confers with management/staff to assess education needs related to staff competency; organizational goals; and individual development plans.
  • Develops; plans; presents and evaluates educational activities using appropriate AV resources; teaching strategies; QI techniques and other resources to engage learners in critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Actively involves the learner in the process of needs assessment and provides feedback as indicated.
  • Provides guidance to advance career development.
  • Possesses and exhibits a strong knowledge base of teaching and learning
  • Acts as a nurse planner for continuing education in accordance with ANCC.

  • Assists with strategic planning by sitting on inter/intradisciplinary teams and actively participating on these teams.
  • Serves as a role model in implementation of professional practice in the clinical setting and exhibiting a positive attitude about lifelong learning.
