Job summary

Exeter Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is a Magnet-recognized community hospital serving the Seacoast region. This Full-Time, Day Shift position runs 7:00am–7:30pm with every other weekend. We offer competitive pay and benefits beginning on day 1, plus growth opportunities and a supportive team environment.

We are seeking a Licensed Nursing Assistant with NH state certification and CPR within 90 days of hire. 0–6 months experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 0–6 months of prior nursing assistant experience.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant - NH State certification.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follows established departmental policies, quality improvement programs, safety and infection control standards.
• Performs basic procedures including incentive spirometry, bedside glucose testing, dressing changes, and oral suctioning.
• Provides personal care to patients.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
• Performs accurate documentation of patient care in the medical record forms.
• Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient and family per hospital standards.
• Enhances professional growth through education, inservices and workshops.
• Determines proper functioning of medical equipment to assure patient safety.
• Participates in development and implementation of the patient care plan.
• Performs EKGs and telemetry skills; may perform phlebotomy in designated areas.
• Orients new LNAs.

• Performs basic procedures including incentive spirometry, bedside testing such as blood glucose testing; non-sterile dressing changes, and oral suctioning and maintains aseptic techniques when appropriate.
• Provides personal care to patients.
• Monitors condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
• Performs accurate and timely documentation of patient care information on appropriate patient medical record forms.
• Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient and family in accordance with hospital standards including assurance and support of patients' rights and responsibilities.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs; current literature; inservices; meetings and workshops.
• Determines proper functioning of medical equipment to assure patient safety.
• Participates in the development and implementation of the patient care plan.
• Performs EKG's and/or ortho tech/telemetry skills. May perform phlebotomy in designated areas.
• Orients new LNAs.
