The Endo Tech assists Gastroenterologists, Pulmonologists, and General Surgeons, as well as RNs and patients, with interventional Endoscopic procedures.
Requirements:
Previous healthcare experience is preferred, including work as a healthcare tech, medical assistant, LNA, sterile processing tech, EMT, or paramedic. If the previous experience does not include current state licensure, the candidate will be required to apply for NH Medical Technician Registry.

Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the RN in data collection for objective assessment to identify patient needs. May be cross-trained to work in multiple areas, including the admit/discharge area in Endo and OSC, the Interventional Procedure area as a procedure assistant, and in the transport department.
- Providing technical skills as part of the team, communicating effectively with supervisors, staff, physicians, and anesthesiologists. Assisting physicians with procedures such as EGD, sigmoidoscopies, colonoscopies, bronchoscopies, PEG/JPEG/NG placement and exchange, EBUS, EUS procedures, ERCP, fine needle aspiration, BRAVO, etc., and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
- Preparing and turnover of procedure rooms, gathering supplies, organizing non-controlled pharmaceuticals, restocking supplies, and ensuring emergency carts are fully stocked and functional.
- Maintaining a safe environment by complying with regulatory requirements and hospital policies, including PPE use and airborne disease precautions.
- Staying informed about professional issues in endoscopy/gastroenterology and pulmonology; attending in-services and self-educating on equipment and procedures. SGNA certification is strongly encouraged upon meeting eligibility requirements.
- Documenting staff presence and scope utilization, collecting and handling specimens during procedures.
- Participating as a member of the Endoscopy Call Team, remaining calm in emergencies, and preparing equipment for urgent use.
- Engaging in performance improvement activities and participating in departmental committees.
- Training new staff and assisting in the training of MDs with new equipment.
- Performing decontamination and high-level disinfection of endoscopes according to manufacturer guidelines and SGNA practices, maintaining documentation for quality assurance.
