Job summary

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support our dental care team across multiple locations in the Tampa Bay area. This role provides chairside assistance and helps ensure a positive patient experience in accordance with TFHC policies and Florida regulations.

The ideal candidate will hold EFDA certification, Dental Radiology and CPR, be a graduate of an accredited program, and be capable of travel between sites including the mobile unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program
• Florida Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification required
• Dental Radiology certification required
• Current CPR certification required
• Open to new graduates with completed in-person externship

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists and hygienists with chairside procedures in a general dental setting
• Prepare operatory rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
• Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment and clinical areas
• Support front office functions, including scheduling and patient intake
• Submit pre-authorizations and maintain accurate patient records
• Coordinate with dental labs for case pickups and deliveries
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies
• Communicate effectively with patients and team members to support care compliance
• Travel to various TFHC locations and support the mobile dental unit as needed
• Assist with additional duties as assigned
