Job summary

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support our dental care team. This role delivers chairside assistance, supports clinical and administrative functions, and ensures a positive patient experience across TFHC locations.

The Dental Assistant works closely with dentists, hygienists, and leadership to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in line with TFHC policies and Florida regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program.
• Florida EFDA certification required.
• Dental Radiology certification required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Open to new graduates with completed in-person externship.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists and hygienists with chairside procedures.
• Prepare operatory rooms, instruments, and materials.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment and areas.
• Support front office functions, including scheduling and intake.
• Submit pre-authorizations and maintain patient records.
• Coordinate with dental labs for case pickups/deliveries.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
• Communicate effectively with patients and team members.
