Job summary

Tampa Family Health Centers (TFHC) in Tampa, Florida is seeking a Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support our dental care team. This role provides chairside assistance, supports clinical and administrative functions, and helps ensure a positive and efficient patient experience across multiple locations.

The Dental Assistant works closely with dentists, hygienists, and leadership to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with TFHC policies and Florida regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program.
• Florida EFDA certification required; Dental Radiology and CPR certifications required.
• Open to new graduates with completed in-person externship.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists and hygienists with chairside procedures.
• Prepare operatory rooms, instruments, and materials.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment.
• Support front office tasks, including scheduling and intake.
• Submit pre-authorizations and maintain patient records.
• Coordinate with dental labs for case pickups/deliveries.
• Travel to TFHC locations and assist the mobile unit as needed.
