Job summary

Vandalia Smile Center in Vandalia, OH is seeking a skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join a dedicated team. The role includes performing expanded functions, taking radiographs, and providing chairside support in a full-time position with a strong emphasis on patient care and team collaboration.

The ideal candidate has EFDA capabilities, strong communication, and a willingness to train. Ohio certification and CPR are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• EFDA responsibilities and expanded functions
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork
• CPR and radiography certification required or in training
• Open Dental experience preferred but trainable
• Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during various treatment procedures.
• Perform expanded functions including restorative procedures, coronal polishing, and sealant placement.
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient visits.
• Provide chairside assistance and support to the dental team.
• Take and develop dental radiographs.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
