Job description

Job Overview

Here at M Health Fairview, we are seeking an EEG Technologist to join our team. The EEG Technologist will perform non-invasive neurodiagnostic testing from neonate to geriatric population. Determine the extern/mode of testing which yields the highest quality and quantity of recording data for doctor’s interpretation. This is to include but not limited to EEG’s, Evoked Potentials, Intraoperative Monitoring, and 24 hour/long-term video monitoring.

Schedule: This is a .8 FTE (64 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work 8 hour shifts during the day from 7:30AM - 4:00PM (we can be a little flexible on start times!). This position will include a weekend rotation of every 3rd weekend and will include an on-call rotation.

Location: The EEG Technologist will have a home base at St John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN, with additional travel to Woodwinds Hospital, Bethesda, Ridges Hospital and Southdale Hospital as needed.

Job Expectations:

  • Thorough understanding of equipment operation, safety, and limitation as it relates to all equipment used in the scope of neurodiagnostic. Recognize and implement corrective action when necessary. Initiate service calls as necessary.
  • Intraoperative Monitoring
    • Ability to assess data and interpret descriptive information as it is provided to the surgical physician and anesthesia.
  • Surgical Standards
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of surgical environment.
  • Perform Evoke Potentials (neuro pathways of the visual, auditory, and upper somatosensory studies)
    • Ability to assess medical history and clinical findings specific to the modality studied.

    • Stay current with ASET journals, continue CEU when available and attend lectures provided by our own Educational Medical Staff.

Required

Education

  • Associate Degree in an accredited school of Neurodiagnostic.

Experience

  • One year experience in neurodiagnostic as an EEG Technologist; new graduates may be considered.

License/Certification/Registration

  • Registered by American Society of Electro-neurodiagnostic Technologists through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation.
  • Ability to provide written validation of current basic life support competency or ability to obtain written validation within 30 days of hire.

Preferred

Experience

  • 3+ years of Electrodiagnostic experience.

License/Certification/Registration

  • CLTM Exam.
