Participates in a process of instruction and activity to perform electroencephalography (EEG) and long-term monitoring (LTM) via scalp and intracranial electrodes on adult and pediatric patients across all Neurophysiology Programs, including Epilepsy Surgery and Pediatric Monitoring Programs. Responsibilities include preparing equipment and supplies, assisting advanced neurophysiology staff and providers, and supporting real-time neurotelemetry monitoring for patients undergoing testing within the critical care EEG (CCEEG) LTM program across YNHHS.
This role involves alerting the care team for STAT responses during witnessed seizures, monitoring and annotating recordings, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining communication with the clinical team and technical support teams, ensuring adherence to national standards such as ACNS guidelines. Demonstrates patient and family-centered care principles, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent; an associate degree or higher, or enrollment/graduates of a CAAHEP-accredited neurodiagnostic program are preferred. Enrolled or graduated students from the YNHH School of Clinical Neurophysiology are preferred.
Experience: 3-4 years in a patient care role within a hospital or clinical setting, such as polysomnography, EMT, PCA, CNA, or similar roles.
Licensure: National board certification in EEG (REEGT) by ABRET or registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT) by BRPT required within 2 years of hire.
Special Skills: Intermediate computer skills, troubleshooting network connectivity, excellent communication, team collaboration, and clinical environment knowledge.
