Job summary

Children's Health in Dallas seeks an EEG Tech to join the Neurophys department on-site with PRN hours varying. You will perform EEG procedures, apply electrodes per the 10-20 system, and maintain patient safety.

Under supervision, you will gather patient history, explain procedures to families, and troubleshoot equipment as needed while advancing your neurodiagnostic education and participating in team meetings.

Qualifications

• CAHAAP Accredited EEG program or ABRET recognized EEG certificate program.
• Experience working in Neurodiagnostics in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs EEG recording according to the standards of the laboratory.
• Measures and applies electrodes using the 10-20 system; ensure impedances meet standards.
• Writes patient history from patient, records, and family; notes seizures and medications.
• Explains the test procedure to patient and family.
• Establishes rapport and maintains a safe testing environment.
• Troubleshoots equipment and reports issues to IT/HTM and supervisor.
• Maintains clean, safe work environment; participates in staff meetings.
• Pursues ongoing education and credentials in neurodiagnostic field.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
