Job summary

Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas is seeking an Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (EEG Tech) to perform EEG, EP, NCS and EMG procedures using age-appropriate guidelines. You will educate patients and families, prepare charts, and ensure equipment readiness in a hospital setting.

Required: an associate degree (preferred) or higher from a CAAHEP Neurodiagnostic program, and R. EEG T or R. EPT certification by end of first year. This is a Monday–Friday role with hospital-based duties.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Applied Science or higher (preferred).
• Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic program (CoA-NDT, CAAHEP).
• R. EEG T or R. EPT certification required by end of first year.

Responsibilities

• Performs EEG, EP, NCS, EMG procedures following age-appropriate guidelines.
• Maintain clinic schedule; contact patients to schedule procedures.
• Prepare patient charts and interpret information from reports.
• Prepare, organize, and summarize data for physician review.
• Enter required information for reporting purposes.
• Educate patient/family about procedures and provide pre- and post-education.
• Ensure instrument and supply readiness for patient safety.
• Communicate effectively with team members and Neurologist physicians.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Performs, in areas trained, advanced neurophysiology testing procedures, EEG, EP, NCS, EMG using age/developmentally appropriate guidelines.
• Must be capable of handling multiple tasks effectively and able to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations.
• Maintain clinic schedule; contacts patients to schedule procedures when needed.
• Prepare patient charts and interpret information accurately from reports.
• Prepares, organizes, and summarizes data for physician review.
• Enter all required information for reporting purposes.
• Educate patient/family about diagnostic procedures and provide pre- and post-education.
• Cleans, replenishes, maintains, and assures availability of instruments and supplies for patient safety.
• Ensures electrode and equipment integrity, maintains and catalogs supplies, and patient preparation.
• Performs routine testing under supervision; writes a descriptive technical analysis, calculates nerve conduction values.
• Conduct and analyze, as trained, complex electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocity NCS, or other neurodiagnostic tests.
• Observes, measures, and record the electrical activity and brain wave patterns by using an encephalograph.
• Monitor patient’s comfort during tests.
• Inspect, analyze, and troubleshoot client systems and equipment, run tests, interpret the results, source replacement parts, and negotiate costs with suppliers.
• Communicate effectively with team members and Neurologist physicians.
• And other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

• Associate degree in Applied Science or higher is preferred or a graduate from a CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic program CoA-NDT, CAAHEP..
• Hold at least one (1) registration by ABRET preferred.
• R. EEG T or R. EPT certification required by end of first year of employment with SRC.
