Job summary

Penn Medicine's Neurology department is seeking a PRN EEG Technologist to perform adult and neonatal EEG studies under a physician's direction. You will apply electrodes, verify orders, calibrate equipment, record EEGs using the 10-20 system, and provide initial interpretations, communicating urgent findings to Epilepsy physicians.

The role requires a high school diploma, EEG program completion or 3+ years EEG experience, BCLS, and EEG registry within 2 years; R.EEG T. preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited EEG program or 3+ years EEG work experience required.
• BCLS certification required; EEG registry within 2 years of hire.
• R.EEG T. credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain test procedures to patients.
• Apply recording, monitoring and stimulating electrodes.
• Verify patient and orders; gather history.
• Record EEG using the 10-20 system.
• Provide initial interpretation and communicate urgent findings to Epilepsy physicians.
• Schedule appointments and manage billing accuracy.
