Job description

Job Summary –

The Registered EEG technologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care in the Neurophysiology Lab for stable patients and at the patient's bedside for critically ill patients. The EEG Technologist performs standard and complex neurophysiological recordings on patient populations ranging from neonatal to geriatrics.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience:

• Electro Neuro Diagnostic Program preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience.

Minimum skills/abilities:

• Experience with Meditech, Athena.
• Vocational or Technical training in Electrodiagnostic Technology required.
• Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists preferred.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, policies, and practical applications in varied situations.

Certification/Licensure:

• EEG Board Eligible; Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (R EEG T) preferred.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated Registered EEG Technologist to:

1. Perform testing, documentation, and interpretation according to lab protocols and ASET standards.
2. Perform routine EEGs, continuous video EEG monitoring, and ambulatory EEGs.
3. Set up, troubleshoot, and perform multiple technical procedures.
4. Multi-task between different applications.
5. Record all montages and perform activating procedures to demonstrate abnormalities.
6. Document patient movements, clinical events, and other activities affecting waveforms.
7. Record sensitivity and filter settings, calibrations, and patient information.
8. Perform daily quality assurance for inpatient continuous EEG monitoring.
9. Include technologist's impressions and communicate with physicians.
10. Manage patient billing information and enter results into Meditech.
11. Provide initial and ongoing training for EEG equipment.
12. Conduct monthly and annual quality assurance measures.
13. Ensure timely report entry into Meditech.
14. Collect and analyze data, report findings, and adapt to changing environments and schedules.
15. Provide high-level patient care, demonstrating professionalism, interpersonal skills, and team collaboration.
