Job Summary -

The Registered EEG Technologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care in the Neurophysiology Lab for stable patients and at the patient's bedside for critically ill patients. The technologist must perform standard and complex neurophysiological recordings across patient populations from neonatal to geriatrics.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience:

• Electrodiagnostic Program preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience.

Minimum Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with Meditech, Athena.
• Vocational or Technical training in Electrodiagnostic Technology required.
• Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, and policies and apply them in varied situations.

Certification/Licensure:

• EEG Board Eligible; Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists preferred.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Registered EEG Technologist to:

1. Perform testing, documentation, and interpretation according to lab protocols and ASET standards.
2. Perform routine, continuous video, and ambulatory EEGs.
3. Set up, troubleshoot, and perform multiple technical procedures.
4. Multi-task across applications.
5. Record all montages and perform activating procedures to identify abnormalities.
6. Document patient movements, clinical events, and activities affecting waveforms.
7. Record sensitivity, filter settings, and calibrations.
8. Include all relevant patient information on the face sheet.
9. Perform daily quality assurance for inpatient EEG monitoring.
10. Make discriminating observations, communicate findings to physicians, and include technologist’s impression.
11. Manage patient billing information and enter charges.
12. Provide initial and ongoing equipment training for new hires.
13. Perform regular quality assurance measures for EEG protocols.
14. Ensure timely report entry into Meditech.
15. Collect and analyze data, report findings, and adapt to changing environments and schedules.
16. Maintain professionalism and provide high-quality patient care across all age groups.
17. Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
