Job summary

Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, seeks an EEG Technologist Coordinator to assist with inpatient and outpatient EEG and long-term monitoring, under supervision, learning routines and safety protocols in a busy clinical setting.

You will support patient intake, electrode placement per the 10/20 system, data analysis, and equipment maintenance while adhering to ACNS guidelines. This PRN role emphasizes flexibility, patient comfort, and professional growth in neurodiagnostic care.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Neurodiagnostic program
• College-level courses in anatomy and physiology preferred
• Experience in patient care setting preferred

Job description

• Schedule/Shift/Hours PRN - (As Needed) - Variable

Position Summary

Under direct supervision of the R.EEG Technologist preceptor, EEG Technologist Coordinator and/or department manager, learns to perform routine inpatient and outpatient EEG and LTM on all ages.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient intakes and preparations for EEG testing
• Documents patient information and pertinent patient history
• Performs electrode measuring, mapping, and application utilizing International 10/20 system
• Operates and monitors EEG equipment during recording following ACNS guidelines
• Performs basic data analysis related to EEG waveforms
• Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment, supplies, and patient care areas as needed
• Maintains appropriate use of PPE
• Ensures patient comfort and safety during testing
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in Neurodiagnostic program
• Completion of college-level courses in anatomy and physiology, basic electronics and medical terminology preferred
• Experience in a patient care setting preferred

Working Conditions

• Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
• Typical equipment used in a clinical job
• Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
• Must be able to assist in patient transfer
• Must be able to lift and move up to 35 lbs
