Virginia Tech is seeking a program coordinator to implement and coordinate Educators Rising activities in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education to enhance CTE instructional programs.
The role includes coordinating student events, leadership development, and recognition programs; providing support and professional development for educators; and managing financial oversight for student and contract funds, with responsibilities in planning and board operations.
This position is responsible for the implementation andcoordination of Virginia Educators Rising student organizationactivities in collaboration with the Virginia Department ofEducation (VDOE) to enhance Career and Technical Education (CTE)instructional programs. Other duties include: coordinating studentevents, leadership development, and recognition programs; providingsupport and professional development for educators; managingfinancial oversight and compliance for student and contract funds;assisting with strategic planning and board operations; anddelivering additional services as identified by the VDOE.
Bachelor’s degree in education, teacher preparation, or a relatedcareer and technical education field. The incumbent must have atleast three years of experience as a professional/advisory-levelmember of a career and technical education co-curricular studentorganization, with preference for experience in Educators Rising ora related organization supporting the education and training careercluster. Proficiency in database and spreadsheet software (e.g.,"Excel"), website maintenance and content management systems, and theuse of financial and budgeting tools to support program planningand resource allocation is required. The position requires strongorganizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well asthe ability to work independently and manage priorities.Considerable knowledge of coordinating and administering studentorganization activities—including meetings, conferences, andco-curricular programs—and overseeing organizational operations,including planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, isessential.
