A three‑year commitment follows program completion and supervision by certified teachers is provided. Candidates should be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, and be enrolled in or eligible for required coursework.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or desirable training.
• Must possess or qualify for New Mexico Level III Educational Assistant license.
• Valid driver’s license and car insurance if traveling between sites.
• Enrolled or eligible to enroll in required coursework (min 9 credit hours per year).

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional support and classroom management for individuals and small groups.
• Interact with supervisor, teachers and parents.
• Work under the direct supervision of a certified teacher.
• Use current technology for instructional management needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
• Report unsafe conditions in school facilities.
• Work at least 7 hours per day and be on time.
• Three-year commitment upon completion of the program.
