Job summary

Roswell Independent School District is seeking an Educator Fellows Educational Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year at East Grand Plains Elementary in Roswell, NM. The role supports Pre-K-12 instructional activities, assists licensed staff, and helps manage classrooms and student materials.

Starting immediately, candidates should be pursuing education-related studies, possess a valid NM license or qualify for it, and be willing to commit to a three-year program after completion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Possess or qualify for a New Mexico Level III Educational Assistant license.
• Valid driver’s license required; car insurance may be needed for traveling between sites.
• Enrolled in or eligible to enroll in required coursework (minimum of 9 credit hours per year).

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional support and classroom management for individuals and small groups.
• Interact with supervisor, teachers and parents; follow instructions of certified teachers.
• Work under direct supervision of a licensed teacher; support students with diverse needs.
• Prepare educational materials and assist with reading and storytelling activities.
• Help with supervision and record-keeping; maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Utilize current technology for instructional support and management tasks.
• Provide support for independent study, enrichment and remedial work as directed by teachers.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and participate in required professional development.

Education
