Job summary

Vassar Public Schools seeks a Technology Technician to configure, maintain, and support computer workstations, peripherals, telephones, projectors, and AV equipment across the district. Occasional after-hours support may be required for events.

Qualifications include an associate degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in Windows tech support, and familiarity with Google Admin. The role reports to the Technology Director and offers benefits and a 36,503 USD starting pay.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field preferred; experience may qualify.
• Two or more years of technology support experience in Microsoft Windows environments.
• Experience supporting general or special education, customer service, inventory management, or communications.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming helpdesk requests for hardware (Chromebooks, laptops/desktops, printers, projectors, cameras) and software like Google email/Drive and Microsoft Office.
• Balance helpdesk workload with Technology Director responsibilities.
• Maintain professional organization of physical and virtual environments.
• Uphold FERPA compliance across systems and staff.
• Assist in cybersecurity practices with platforms such as Artic Wolf, KnowBe4, and Crowdstrike.
• Assist with Active Directory/Group Policy management and Windows server tasks.
• Deploy computer images, updates, and software; repair or arrange replacements as needed.
• Maintain accurate hardware and consumables inventory.
• Support staff and events with technology during meetings and performances.
