Technology Support Specialist
Full-time; Monday - Friday; Days; Non-Exempt Position
Salary Range: $40,000-$50,000
Objective / Summary
Performs duties necessary for the daily maintenance, support and operations of computers and other technology throughout the district, to assist the Director of Information Technology.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's degree in an IT related program (Computer Science, Systems Administration, or other), or a minimum of 2 years equivalent work experience
- Desired: CompTIA A+ or other IT industry certification
- Pass a background check
- Experience with Google Workspace Administration
- Helpdesk support experience in a mixed macOS, iOS, ChromeBook, and Windows environment
- Strong knowledge of Cybersecurity best practices and threat response
- Network configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience
Essential Functions
- Provide Tier 1 helpdesk support to on-site and remote staff, students, and families
- Maintain equipment by deploying OS upgrades and patches to keep devices current, secure, and running with optimal uptime
- Assist in the implementation of new technology and information systems
- Assist in district assessment setup and troubleshooting
- Supports technology infrastructure, including LAN, WLAN, Security, Data Storage, Video Systems, Access Control, Environmental Controls, etc.
- Assist in asset tracking and inventory control
- Ability to be self-directed and work effectively with limited supervision
- Effective time-management skills with good organizational abilities
- Human relations skills including the ability to work effectively with non-technical as well as technical individuals
- Willingness to drive personal growth and expand knowledge of technology and trends
- Understand compliance requirements related to the school district (for example: FERPA, COPPA, HIPPA, etc.)
- Adapt to schedule changes and multiple site needs
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Physical Requirements
This position requires vocal communication, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, use of hands to grasp and feel, and vision abilities including close, distance, and adjusting focus. Lifting/moving required frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds or more. Occasionally work from a tall ladder and scissor lift. Work occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and is generally in a moderately noisy location.
