Job summary

District of Columbia Public Schools seeks an Educational Technology Specialist focusing on AI to help integrate technology into curricula and instruction. You will design AI-enabled resources, deliver professional learning, and support districts across DCPS in adopting tools like Canvas LMS and Microsoft 365.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience, and a strong emphasis on equity, privacy, and effective PD delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree in education, instructional technology, or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting instructional technology integration and/or professional learning.
• Knowledge of data privacy and responsible technology use (FERPA, COPPA, CIPA).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with OTL and academic teams to support technology and AI integration into curriculum and instruction.
• Develop, maintain, and curate curriculum-aligned digital and AI-enabled resources, including templates, models, and on-demand learning materials.
• Design and facilitate professional learning (in-person and asynchronous) to build staff capacity in effective technology and AI use.
• Support implementation of AI literacy initiatives and create guidance and classroom-ready supports for educators and students.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of digital and AI tools aligned to instructional goals and district priorities.
• Provide support for digital platforms and systems.
• Model best practices in technology integration aligned to standards and district frameworks.
• Monitor emerging trends in educational technology and AI and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
