Job summary

REGIONAL SCHOOL UNIT NO. 57 in Waterboro, ME is seeking an Educational Technician III at Lyman Elementary School. The role supports teachers, assists with computer lab and library tasks, and helps manage classroom and student activities throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include instructional and non-instructional support, administration of assessments, IEP input, supervision duties, and collaboration with the Technology Coordinator. Salary is $21.06–$27.14 per hour.

Qualifications

• Documentation of 3+ years of post-secondary education or 90 hours in an educationally related field.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; understanding of the instructional process; awareness of student needs.
• Knowledge of emergency, health, and safety procedures preferred.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing in-service training as requested by administration.
• Must hold or be eligible for State of Maine Educational Technician III Authorization and CHRC Approval Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instructional support for individuals or small groups.
• Develop strategies to reinforce material based on student needs.
• Support independent study, enrichment, and remedial work.
• Administer, score, and record assessments as directed.
• Assist students with instructional materials and equipment.
• Provide input to the IEP process and parent conferences when requested.
• Provide primary computer lab support, troubleshooting, and software updates.
• Support network functions and inventory with the Technology Coordinator.
• Prepare and manage the computer lab budget and orders.
• Assist with library/material checkouts, shelving, and cataloging.
• Support Special Education tasks such as IEP prep and materials prep.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, bus, and field trips.
